SENIOR MOTION CAPTURE SUPERVISOR

 

Quantic Dream (creators of Heavy Rain & Indigo Prophecy) is looking for a Lead Motion Capture :

Here are the details :

Job Description :

The candidate will be managing our body and facial Motion Capture Studio, setting up and maintaining the overall motion capture pipelines/workflows

, setting the quality bar and technological needs as well as coordinate with the Graphics and Animation teams.

Key Activities & Responsibilities :

> Maintain & set-up our Motion Capture pipelines/workflows, in coordination with the other graphical teams of the studio;
> Drive innovative motion capture techniques and tools R&D;
> Direct pre-production planning for productions ranging from simple one day only to highly complex ones necessitating months long shootings;
> Advise and mentor internal departments and external clients on the best use of motion capture technologies;
> Supervise on-set technical shoots with a large MX 40 Vicon system for both facial and full body captures;
> Organize and manage the Mocap Team (data tracking, cleanup, integration and motion editing, skeletal solving…) including task management and schedules.

Essential Requirements :

> At least 5 years experience as a senior Mocap supervisor or as Lead Motion Capture.
> In a senior role, shipped at least one AAA successful game/movie.
> Experience with large scale performance motion capture productions a must;
> Experience developing processes and tools ;
> Outstanding motion capture skills, solid understanding of animation theory and general animation movie/games pipelines.
> Communicate clearly with design and product owner group;
> Fluent communication skills in English, both verbal and written (French a plus);
> Flexible, easy to adapt to new challenges, capable of handling different projects in style and scale at the same time;
> Proficient with Vicon IQ / Vicon Blade / Motion Builder
> Experience with HSL script a huge plus
> Experience with rigging in Maya a plus

Mocap Specialist -

Epic Games has a position for a Motion Capture specialist who is capable of running our Vicon system and working with Blade, Motion Builder, and Maya. (this is not a position for entry level applicants).

Communication skills are a necessity as the position entails working closely with Cinematic Directors, the Animation Lead, the mocap actors, etc.

We are located in Cary, NC, have a 36 camera system in a mocap dedicated building.  (approx 50ftx50ftx50ft.)

The position also requires producing cleaned mocap for in-game animations and cinematics.

Video game experience is a huge plus.

We currently have two games in production and our past games include Gears of War 1 and 2 and the Unreal titles.

The School of Cinema & Interactive Media at DePaul University invites animators to apply for a full-time, tenure-track position in one of the most innovative and fastest-growing animation programs in the country. Located in the heart of Chicago's vibrant Loop and Lincoln Park communities, the animation program is part of the School of Cinema & Interactive Media, which also includes cross-disciplinary programs in Cinema, Game Development, and Interactive Media.  There are currently over 125 majors enrolled in the graduate and undergraduate animation programs. Job Requirements

Ideal candidates for the positions will have teaching and production experience in one or more of the following areas of cinema, television and game development: hand-drawn animation, stop motion, 3d modeling, 3d animation, motion graphics, visual effects and motion capture. Job responsibilities include teaching, advising, service, supervising student projects and continued creative activities and/or scholarship in the field. Position begins fall of 2010. Any offer of employment is contingent upon institutional budget approval. MFA or equivalent required; qualified candidates without an MFA may be eligible for full-time non-tenure track positions, and are encouraged to apply.
